# Listener Quick Start

> Get started with a free BeatPass account.

This guide is for users who want to discover music, save favorites, and build playlists on the free Explorer plan.

## Step 1: Create Your Account

Create a free account and verify your email.

## Step 2: Explore Music

Start with the current discovery surfaces:

* Homepage recommendations
* Channels
* Search
* Producer pages
* Collections

  Use homepage modules, channels, and search together instead of relying on one fixed catalog entry point.

## Step 3: Play and Save Beats

As you browse:

* Play tracks from cards or track pages
* Like tracks you want to revisit
* Save collections you enjoy
* Open producer pages when you find a sound you want more of

## Step 4: Build Your Library

Use your free account to organize what you discover:

* Create playlists
* Keep public or private playlists depending on how you want to share them
* Revisit liked tracks and collections from your library

## Step 5: Follow Producers

When you find a producer you like:

1. Open their producer page
2. Click **Follow**
3. Keep track of their catalog through your own library and profile activity

## Step 6: Use Your Beat-Request Token

The free Explorer plan includes 1 beat-request token per month. Use it to submit a custom beat request to producers on the platform.

## What Requires a Paid Plan

With a free account you can browse, save, and request beats, but paid plans add:

* Licensed downloads
* License certificates
* Additional beat-request tokens (up to 5/month on Pro)
