# Claim Existing Artist | BeatPass

> Request access to an existing BeatPass producer profile that your account does not control yet.

The **Claim Existing Artist** request is for producers whose music or producer page is already on BeatPass, but whose current account does not control that profile yet.

***

## Who Should Use This

Choose this path if:

* You already see your music on BeatPass
* The producer profile is not yet connected to your account
* You need BeatPass to verify ownership or authority before linking it to you

If you are starting from scratch with no existing profile, use [Become a Producer](/help/producer-program/application-types/become-producer) instead.

***

## How It Works

When you claim a profile:

1. You search for and select the existing producer profile
2. BeatPass checks whether it is currently available
3. The team reviews your ownership evidence
4. If approved, the profile is linked to your account

1. Visit [https://open.beatpass.ca/producer-program](https://open.beatpass.ca/producer-program)
2. Click **Apply to Join** (if logged in) or **Apply Now** (if not). This will redirect you to the request selector at [https://open.beatpass.ca/backstage/requests](https://open.beatpass.ca/backstage/requests)

<Note>
The request selector page heading reads **Join the Producer Program**. The **Claim Existing Artist** option is available to all users regardless of producer status.
</Note>

### 2. Select the Profile

Search for the producer profile you want to claim.

After selecting a profile, BeatPass checks its current ownership state:

* **Available** - The profile can be claimed

## What Happens Next

### Review

BeatPass verifies:

* The profile is actually available to claim
* You are the rightful owner or authorized representative
* Your supporting materials make sense for the claim

### Decision

You will receive an email when the claim is approved or denied.

### After Approval

Once approved:

* The profile is linked to your account
* You can manage that profile from your producer tools
* You can edit and upload against that profile going forward

See [After Approval](/help/producer-program/after-approval) for the next steps.

## What If the Profile Is Already Claimed?

If you see **Already Claimed** when selecting a profile:

1. The profile is already owned by another user
2. The normal claim flow stops there
3. If you believe the ownership is wrong, use [https://open.beatpass.ca/contact](https://open.beatpass.ca/contact)
