# Bio & Links

Your biography, location, and links shape the public "about" experience on your producer profile.

## Writing Your Biography

Your producer bio appears inside the public profile's about content.

### What to Include

* **Your background** — How you got into making beats
* **Your style** — What makes your sound unique
* **Your influences** — Artists and genres that inspire you
* **Your achievements** — Notable placements, collaborations, or milestones
* **What you're working on** — Current projects or upcoming releases

### How to Add Your Bio

    Navigate to your producer profile page on BeatPass.

    Click the **More** button on your profile, then select **Edit**.

  <Step title="Use the Biography tab">
    Open **Biography** in the producer editor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Update your public details">
    Add or edit your description, city, and country.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save Changes">
    Save the profile to publish the changes.
  </Step>

  Keep your bio engaging but concise. Visitors should be able to quickly understand who you are and what you're about. Break up long text into paragraphs for easier reading.

### Bio Tips

* **Be authentic** — Write in your own voice
* **Stay professional** — Remember this represents your brand
* **Update regularly** — Refresh your bio as your career evolves
* **Avoid links in bio** — Use the Links section instead (links in the description are not clickable)

  URLs and links are not allowed in the Description field. They won't be clickable. Use the dedicated Links section to add your social profiles and website.

## Adding Social Links

Profile links appear in the public connect area of your producer page.

### How links work

BeatPass supports general web links, including:

* Instagram
* Twitter / X
* YouTube
* SoundCloud
* Spotify
* TikTok
* Your personal website
* Linktree or similar link aggregators

### How to Add Links

    Go to **More -> Edit** on your producer profile.

    Open **Links** in the editor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Your Links">
    Add the full URL for each destination you want to publish.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save Changes">
    Save the profile.
  </Step>

### Where they appear

Your biography and links support the public profile areas below:

| Element           | Location                                               |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Bio text**      | About content in the profile view                      |
| **Location**      | About content when city or country is set              |
| **Connect links** | Public link row on the profile                         |
| **Genres**        | Separate profile metadata set from the **Details** tab |

## Best Practices

### For Your Bio

* Keep the first few sentences compelling—they appear before any "Show more" link
* Mention your main genres and style early
* Include any notable accomplishments
* Update it when you have news to share

### For Your Links

* Prioritize active social accounts
* Remove links to inactive profiles
* Keep links current—broken links look unprofessional
* Consider what platforms your target audience uses most
