The upload page is where producers add new beats and build collections. This guide covers the upload flow, form fields, validation behavior, AI policy requirements, and tips for a smooth upload experience.
This feature is available to accounts with producer privileges. Learn about the Producer Program.

Accessing the Upload Page

Click Upload beats in the top navigation bar. The page heading reads Upload Your Beats with the sub-text: “Drag and drop your beats, videos & collections here, or click below to browse.”

Upload Modes

The upload page supports two modes: Enable the Create Collection toggle before adding files to build a collection. The toggle description reads: “Automatically create a collection when multiple files are selected.”

Supported Audio Formats

BeatPass only accepts WAV audio files. If you upload an unsupported format, a dialog titled Unsupported File Format appears with an Upload a Different File button.

Adding Files

You have two options:
  • Drag and drop your files directly into the upload area
  • Click Choose Files to Upload and select files from your computer
After a file is accepted, BeatPass opens the track form and begins audio fingerprinting in the background. The form follows a guided sequence. Cover Art & Style opens first, and each next section becomes available after the sections before it are complete. When a new section opens, the previous section stays open so you can review both. Up to two sections remain open at a time.

Track Form Sections

The form is organized into five sections:

Cover Art & Style

Upload cover art for your beat. You can use a custom image or select from AI Cover Presets matched to your genres. The form links directly to the AI Cover Art Presets guide for more detail.

Track Details

Music Properties

Protection & Verification

Choose your beat’s sample clearance status:

Cleared

The beat is 100% original or all samples are fully cleared.

Needs Clearance

The beat contains samples that still require outside clearance.
If you choose Needs Clearance, an additional notes field appears and buyers are warned accordingly. This section also shows the audio fingerprinting status as the duplicate check runs.

AI Use Declaration

BeatPass policy requires every beat to be human-made and not fully AI-generated. AI can assist production, but it cannot replace the producer’s role in making the beat. Choose one declaration before publishing: AI-assisted also requires the tool or service name, a brief explanation of how it affected the final audio, and confirmation that you can commercially use and license all AI-related material. Keep records that support your declaration in case BeatPass requests Proof of Rights.
Sample-Safe status does not replace AI disclosure or AI rights verification. A beat marked Needs Clearance can still violate the AI policy if the AI source or commercial-use rights cannot be verified.

Licensing Options

This is the final step in the guided form. BeatPass only presents licensing models that are available for every credited producer. Depending on payout readiness, a new producer may see Exclusive Only as the available model. If you want to offer exclusive licensing, expand the section and choose a model: If a licensing model is not available for your producer account yet, the option stays visible with an explanation. BeatPass will notify you when it becomes available.
Exclusive Only tracks earn from direct sales and do not contribute to subscription revenue sharing. See the Contribution System before choosing this model.
When exclusive licensing is enabled, additional fields appear:
  • Exclusive price and currency (USD, EUR, GBP, or CAD) for an Available offer
  • Price & availabilityAvailable enables checkout, while Private removes the price and directs buyers to chat
  • Exclusive contact email (auto-filled with your email)
  • Files delivered to the buyer — the original WAV plus stems and any other files you guarantee
Sold is not a publishing choice. BeatPass applies it automatically when an exclusive certificate is issued. After that, the audio and licensing settings are locked and only the cover art can be changed. The form includes links to the licensing, exclusive terms, contribution, cover art, Sample-Safe, and AI policy guides. A compact Publish with confidence panel below the form keeps the main guides together without adding more fields.

Audio Fingerprint Status

During upload, BeatPass shows these fingerprint states:
A beat cannot be published unless the fingerprint check reaches Verified Unique. If the check fails, upload the audio file again. Contact support if verification repeatedly fails on a valid WAV file.
If a matching beat is detected, a modal shows the original track details and similarity score.

Saving Your Upload

When the required fields are complete, click Save Track. The form is locked while BeatPass publishes the beat, so wait for the confirmation before leaving the page. For collection uploads:
  • The collection itself needs its own cover art
  • Each track still needs its own audio file
If the beat includes an exclusive offer, BeatPass asks you to confirm that the license terms and promised deliverables are accurate before publishing. WAV (Uncompressed) is always included. You must also select Stems (Separated Tracks) and guarantee that you can provide them if the beat sells.

Upload Minutes

Your plan determines how many minutes of audio you can upload. A notice at the top of the page shows your remaining minutes. If you run out, consider upgrading your plan for more upload capacity.

Tips

Convert your final masters to WAV before uploading. All other formats are blocked.
Genres affect discovery and drive the AI Cover Preset artwork suggestions.
A beat cannot be confirmed unique until the duplicate check finishes. If a duplicate is found, resolve it before saving.
