Group conversations let you message multiple BeatPass users inside the same thread. They are useful for beat collaborations, playlist planning, and shared production discussions.

Creating a Group Conversation

  1. Click the message icon in the navigation bar
  2. Click New
  3. Search for and select at least 2 other users
  4. Continue selecting additional users as needed
  5. Type your first message
  6. Press Enter or click the send button
The group conversation is created automatically when you send your first message.
The current web UI requires you plus at least 2 other users for a group chat.

How Group Conversations Work

Sending messages in a group works the same as direct messages:
  1. Open the group conversation
  2. Type your message in the input field
  3. Send it with Enter or the send button
Group conversations also support:
  • Typing indicators
  • Seen states
  • Unread badges
  • Failed-send retry
  • Automatic updates while the chat is open

Managing Group Participants

The current web messaging UI does not expose:
  • add-participant controls
  • remove-participant controls
  • custom group renaming
If you need a different participant set, start a new group conversation.

Best Practices

  • Keep group membership focused so unread counts stay manageable
  • Use direct messages for side conversations that do not need the whole group
  • Start a fresh group if the participant list changes materially

Notifications in Groups

Group conversations follow your standard message notification settings. You will be notified about new activity through the channels you enabled for messaging.
Active groups can generate a lot of notification noise. Review your message notification channels if you are in several busy chats.

Send private one-on-one messages instead.
