Producers keep ownership of their beats, but authorize BeatPass to host, distribute, license, issue certificates for, verify, moderate, and support those beats under BeatPass terms.What BeatPass can do with uploaded beats
By participating as an approved producer, you authorise BeatPass to host your beats, display previews, process downloads and purchases, issue licenses and certificates, verify license records, moderate catalog quality, support rights reviews, and run the platform functions needed to operate BeatPass. This authorisation does not transfer ownership of your beat to BeatPass.What producers keep
Producers keep ownership of their beats. You may continue to sell non-exclusive licenses elsewhere unless doing so conflicts with a BeatPass exclusive sale, a third-party exclusive grant, or another rights obligation.Producer Responsibilities
When uploading or listing beats, producers must confirm that:- they own or control the rights needed to upload, sell, license, and authorize BeatPass to issue licenses
- the beat is human-made and not fully AI-generated
- samples, loops, vocals, artwork, names, likenesses, and source material are original, cleared, licensed, or otherwise usable
- AI-assisted elements and AI samples comply with the AI Audio Policy
- metadata, credits, sample-safe status, AI disclosures, and license settings are accurate
- Proof of Rights can be provided if BeatPass asks
Payout Services
Producers must keep payee, bank, tax, and contact information accurate. Payout timing and availability are subject to the applicable payout provider, including legacy Stripe Connect or Wise-powered BEATPAY, as well as the receiving bank, compliance review, tax requirements, and platform-risk controls. BeatPass may request corrections, require disclosure updates, request Proof of Rights, pause downloads, delist beats, restrict uploads, notify affected buyers, or hold unpaid payouts when rights, AI, fraud, metadata, or policy concerns arise. For non-urgent classifications or Proof of Rights decisions, producers may request review within 7 days after BeatPass sends notice.Proof of Rights requests
BeatPass may ask for Proof of Rights when there are concerns about samples, AI origin, duplicate uploads, fraud, metadata, credits, likeness, ownership, or rights disputes. A request does not automatically mean that a producer did something wrong; it means BeatPass needs enough information to protect artists, producers, and the licensing system.Off-Platform Conflicts
If a producer sells or grants exclusive rights outside BeatPass, they must remove or update the BeatPass listing before any conflicting BeatPass license is issued.Related
